some pictures of the kids

Just a few pictures. Allie and her first taste of chocolate. Think she likes it. Her doing a push up, prior to crawling. Logan at his last karate testing. He got his yellow belt. He broke 2 boards. One with his hand and one with his knee. Then us together, minus dad.
I haven't posted in a long time. I started back to work about a month ago. I have a job at an ob/gyn office. Starting August 10th I'll be full time. I'll work from 8-3 at the front desk then from 3 till done in the back helping the doctor. I really enjoy it. I'm learning so much stuff. This is something I never thought I would ever do in a million years. The Good Lord sent me to where He wanted me, not where I wanted to be. Logan has another karate test August 1st. So, maybe I'll get some more pictures on here before long.
Allie is 9 months old now. She is crawling great, started pulling up on chairs and things about a week after she started crawling. She let go today and stood for a split second. She will be grown before you know it. School starts back on the 10th of August. 3rd grade.... I can't believe it!!

8 months old

Well, time is flying by. Allie will be 8 months old tomorrow. She is crawling and pulling up on things. She almost has a tooth. But it isnt' a front tooth. It's a "whatever" they are called. It's beside where her front teeth would be, if she had any...lol

Logan got his yellow belt. He broke 2 boards. One with his hand and one with his knee. He's loving summer. He stays at mama's in the pool all summer.

We leave for the beach in 5 days. Ahh, I can feel the sand now! I'll post pictures later of our vacation.

I started a new job Monday. I work with a local ob/gyn doctor, as her in room assistant. I've never done that before, but I have now! The paperwork is worse than the actual in room work.

Here are a couple of pictures for now.

last day of 2nd grade

Today was Logan's last day of 2nd grade. They had awards day today. He got 3. 2 for AR. He was the 3rd highest reader in the class and he got an award for the best speller. He made mostly 100's and 105's on the pre-spelling tests on Monday. I only found out today that they don't see these words before the tests. WOW! He's smart! He made the A honor roll again. He only made one B this whole year. The first nine weeks on handwriting. Way to go Logan!

Allie is doing good. She is still trying to crawl. He says dada quite alot now. Loves cheerios. Wants to feed herself everything. Still my little beauty!

I went for a job interview yesterday at the local hospital. Don't know about the job yet. Hopefully I will soon.

Big daddy is fine. Working. We are trying to refinance the house. Payments and other bills are killing us right now. Hopefully if that job doesn't come through, another one will.

Allie then and now

Just a couple of pictures of Allie at birth and at 6 months. I'm just surprised at how much she has grown and how little she still is. She is actually 3 days old in the Auburn onsie. The other is from a few days ago, we were playing in the rain. So grown, yet still so small.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Wow, it's been a month since I've posted anything. So, no one reads this but me. Oh, well, just another notch in the belt.

Allie is starting to crawl. She is getting up on her hands and knees. She isn't real steardy, but she is trying. I've started her on a sippy cup. I would like to get her off the bottle by 10 months. That would be great! I plan on starting potty training when she starts walking. I want her trained by the time she is 18 months. Diapers are killing us, especially with me not working. I am still looking for a job. It sucks. I guess I'm doing what I'm qualified for. Staying home and eating myself to death.

Logan is great. He had a karate demo Saturday. He tried to break a board, but didn't do it. It was the first time he has tried though. He did awesome.

Guess that is all for now!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Well, today I'm 37. I can't believe that in 3 years I'll be 40. I guess I've had a pretty good day. Quite a few people have called me. I have gotten a cake and a card from mama. Other than that, nothing. Logan gave me a card he made on the computer on Tuesday. I guess the older you get the less people care about it. Or maybe it's just the people I hang around. Who knows.

Bo's birthday is on the 23rd. We're having a cookout Friday. Just to have a little celebration. After all, I think birthdays are worth celebrating. Well, we've got to get. Logan has karate tonight.

Busy day

Had a busy day yesterday. My cousin/best friend had her baby shower yesterday. But before that Logan had his karate class doing a Relay for Life thing. They (Relay for Life) had a county wide flea market/yard sale. Logans class did a concession stand and car wash. Last I heard the car wash alone had done $140. This was way before we left and way before it was over. So, I'm hoping they did good. Logan was so tired. He worked so hard, I am so proud of him.

Then came the baby shower. She got lots of stuff, as everyone should at a baby shower. Logan stayed and played with his cousin Hunter and Allie and I came home. Bo stayed up with her so I could go to bed. He brought her in the room last night and I didn't know a thing until 4 am. So, apparently I was exhausted.

Everyone is doing well, I suppose. Logan and I are going on his one and only field trip this year to the McWane Center this Friday. My birthday is Thursday. Picking up pictures on Wednesday of Tyler (nephew), Logan and Allie. We had those taken as a surprise for my mother when Ty was down visiting a couple of weeks ago. You know, she doesn't have any pictures of all of her grandkids together. I thought it would be a nice surprise. And surprises are hard to keep in this family.

Busy day today. The park at the end of our street is a Confederate battle site. Every year in April they have a reenactment. Well, that was yesterday and today. Too busy to go yesterday, so today after church that's where we'll be. Then it's to the grocery store to get ready for the up coming week. Dang, I'm tired already!
These are the lastest pictures of Logan and Allie. Logan is doing a karate move, don't ask me which one, they learn them in Japanese, I've yet to master English. The one of Allie is her 5 month picture. I'm amazed at how far they've both come!

4 month visit

Allie had her 4 month visit Friday. She weighs 15lbs. 15 oz. and she is 251/2 in long. Man, she has grown. She has learned so many tricks. She spits. Which is funny. You can already tell her personality. I tell her to stop spitting and she spits again. She has become very vocal. Screams and she has this growl that sounds like a cat. Guess she's living up to her nickname. She seems to be napping less and less. She sleeps until 8 or so and then "cat naps" until around 5, then she will nap for an hour at least.

Logan is doing good. He got straight A's again. He started Karate classes earlier this month. He seems to enjoy them. Bo and I talked and I'm going to join the gym there where he takes lessons. I'm there 2 times a week for an hour at least. So, why not do something productive and healthy? Gulf Shores is coming up in a little over 3 months. I wonder where I can be size wise by then? I'll update every so often.

I've gone and done it

I've put the weight back on. All 38 pounds of it, well, almost all of it. I can't help it. Mostly it's not having will power. Part of it is not having time like before. It was easy to eat salads, chicken, and other "good" stuff when I had time to make and eat them. Now, I have to grab whatever is there that I can gobble down quickly. Combine quick and eating quick and it's a disaster. I have been walking the past few days though. It's helping. I think I'm too hard on myself about it.

Logan has started taking karate lessons on Tuesday and Thursday. They are at a local gym. I'm thinking of asking about membership there. I mean, if I'm going to be there 2 nights a week for an hour, might as well do something besides sit and stare at everyone else working out!

I've got to do something about these food gravings. I seem to be eating everything in sight. Nothing is off limits. It was so much easier when I was pregnant. I had to eat right to keep her healthy. I didn't want anything to be wrong with her. Why can't I feel that way about myself?

I feel like a big slob. Eating things I know aren't good for me and aren't healthy. We all have our demons. Mine happens to be legal and readily avaliable. I've started a food diary, to write everything I eat in a day. So far, it's not how much, but what I'm eating that is horrible. Like rice krispie treats for breakfast. What's up with that.

I'm going to make out a meal planner of things I ate while pregnant and try and stick with those. No time like the present!

Prayers are welcome for this journey!

New pictures

Typical Alabama winter. Bathing suit one minute and bundled up the next. I love the smile she has, especially in the bikini. She looks so excited to be in one. The 2nd picture reminds me of Laura Ingles....lol
All joking aside, I sure hope the bikini fits her in June when we go to Gulf Shores. She and her Dad are getting over a cold. Bo has a dry hacking cough and Allie has a congested cough. She has a head cold, according to the doctor. I took her in yesterday. He gave her a steroid for 5 days and a cough liquid also. Thank God she only has to take the steroid once a day. I can mix it with her morning cereal.

4 month update

Well, Allie is 4 months old. Wow! Time sure flies when you're having fun. She is loving life. She has been trying different foods. So far the only thing she hasn't liked has been green beans. She will eat them when they are mixed with squash and such. Oatmeal is going better than rice cereal. She will eat rice cereal when mixed with bananas, pears, or peaches.

Logan has started basketball. They have played 3 games. Their record is 1-2. There was some drama last game when the coach passed out. We were told he has low blood sugar. But, last night at practice, he said he has an appointment with a neurologist. So, we can only pray that he is ok.

We've made our reservations for our yearly visit to Gulf Shores. We splurged this year on a condo on the beach. I think Bo did that so he wouldn't have to get up early every morning and take us to the beach. I know it's 4 months away, but I've already got my countdown calendar on the computer. Can you say excited! I'm going to be putting a picture on later of Allie in her bikini.... Boy does the girl know how to work it. She is posing and everything. I laughed until I almost cried when I tried it on her. The crazy thing is, is that the bathing suit is a size 18 months.

We've got our vacation planned for next year also. It will be in April. A cruise to the Bahamas. Wow, a birthday present I can really love. Bo just isn't real good at picking out gifts, so we decided that this would be my birthday, our anniversary, and family vacation all rolled into one.

jibber jabber

That's pretty much what Allie is up to these days, jibber jabber. She has been so vocal lately. She love to squeal at the top of her lungs and has some pretty funny faces when you squeal back at her. We went to town today and got her a bathing suit for our trip to Gulf Shores. She looks so cute, I'll have to get the pictures on asap. She will be 4 months on Friday, but is wearing 6 to 9 month clothes. I can hardly wait for her next trip to the doctor.

Logan is doing good. School is great. He has A's on his progress report. So, if he keeps this up, this will make twice he's made all A's. Hard to believe he came from his dad and I. LOL!

Since we changed from cable to Dish, I've become addicted to a few new shows. "Real" housewives of Orange County. Notice the quotation marks around real. These folks wouldn't know a real housewife if one came up and punched her in her fake nose. It's one of those "reality" shows. But for some reason, I can't get enough. I haven't seen the one from New York or Atlanta, I think, But maybe soon, since the season finale was tonight.

Travel Channel is another one I really like. Man vs. Food is a good show. Watch it sometime, you'll see.

Bo is still working, I am still looking. The way it looks, I'll be a stay at home mom for a while. I don't mind really, I want to see Allie grow and be with her as much as possible. I think I've got everyone talked into going on a cruise. So, some my birthday next year, good Lord willing, I will be on a beach in the Bahamas....OMGoodness!!! I think we all deserve it. Something different. Not that there is anything wrong with Gulf Shores, but I'd love to see the beaches somewhere else.

needing to vent

As most pregnant women do, I subscribed to a website to get updates on the babys growth and such. Well, after the baby, you move on to baby things on this website. I know this shouldn't bother me, but it does. Where do some women get off being the last word on what you should or should not do with your child? I mean some women come on there asking your advice, not asking you to chew them out because they want to try something with their child. Just because your "ped", they like to abbriviate EVERYTHING, says so, doesn't mean it's so.

Logan is 8 years old and counting. When he was born there was not as much flack out there about what should and shouldn't be done. Here's my main pet peeves.
1. If I think MY CHILD is ready to try food, I will give her food. Regardless of what you say. I know my child better than you or your "ped".
2. If I feel like letting MY CHILD sleep in the bed with me, she will be in the bed with me. Co-sleep they call it now.
3. Don't tell me I'm wrong for doing what I think is best for MY CHILD.

OK!!! Enough ranting. Now to the good stuff. Allie laughed last week. She is starting to get ticklish. She is so cute, she has this lazy laugh. I call it the Danny Zooko laugh. Not sure on the spelling of that last name, but if you know who I'm talking about, then you know the laugh.

Logan lost his other front tooth at school on Friday. He has been wanting that thing out for a long time. It has been loose for about a month or so.
We went and had some pictures made at Wal-Mart yesterday. I bought $150 worth of pictures. I was so hoping that some wouldn't be good so I wouldn't spend that much money on them. But, I'm glad they were that good.

Well, you are updated for now!

3 months

Well, it's hard to believe, but Allie is 3 months old today. Where has the time gone? I doesn't seem like we just brought her home yesterday. She has gotten so big. The past two nights she has slept all night. From about 9:30 till 6 yesterday and 10:00 till 5 this morning. She takes a 6 oz bottle around 8-8:30, then she works on going to sleep and that's it.

We had to take Logan to school this morning. Bo had to be at work at 7, so it was left up to us. I've been putting in my resume for several jobs. So, if anyone reads this, pray that I finally find a job. I've hoping that I get a job making at least what I did before. $8.50 an hour. Bo put me on the prayer list at church. So, I'm praying that God sends me to the place I need to be, or if He wants me here, that Bo gets a job that will support us without me working.

I almost forgot, Allie laughed yesterday. I was singing Blue's Clues to her, and she started laughing. It was so cute.

2 month check-up

Well, the dreaded day arrived. The two month check-up. Those dang shots. Allie got 3 and a liquid to take. Logan had his 8 year check up, he got 3 shots, the flu, chickenpox and hep. A. So far they both seem to be taking it well. Allie is a little ill. Her leg hurts where she got the 2 shots. Logan on the other hand is doing great. Both are taking something for the pain/fever every 4 hours.

She doesn't have to go back until her 4th month. Then she get these shots all over again!

It's amazing how much she has grown in these two months. She's up to 12 lbs and 7 oz. and is 22 and 1/4 in. The doctor said she is pretty much perfect. Well, doc, tell me something I didn't know.

Logan is 54 in tall and 70 lbs. OMG! He's so grown.
